Are you familiar with Bill Engvall’s comedy routine “Here’s your sign”. I had a moment like that the other day at work. Amber and I saw Ironman the other night. I was disappointed with all of the sexuality in the movie. My daughters weren’t able to watch it. Anyways, I was asking a guy I work with if he’d seen it. Here’s how the conversation went:
Me: Hey man have you seen the movie Ironman?
Him: Is that the movie about the guy that wears the suit made of all metal?
Blogging, along with everything else has come to a screeching halt because Amber and I have been working tirelessly on this room. We’ve done all of this in the last two weeks.
Chuck Baldwin is the Constitution Party’s candidate for President of the United States of America. He’s also who I’m voting for. Am I wasting my vote? Absolutely not. It’s finally come full circle in the US that we only have one political party. Many have known this for years, but now it is staring us right in the face. The establishment candidates are so much alike it doesn’t matter if you vote for McCain or Obama. It’s really comical while at the same time sad listening to people argue between who is the better candidate between those two. Especially when conservatives are trying to justify voting for a man who was too liberal to support in the 2000 election. I hear many say they are worried that most conservatives will stay home and give the election to Obama. They are terrified that Obama will get in the White House. Not because he’s black, but because he is extremely liberal. Well Obama is on the far left, but so far I haven’t heard or read anything about the man’s character that even resembles McCain’s past. After reading this it’s no wonder James Dobson said he would never vote for McCain. If you are a conservative Christian don’t stay home this November. Go out and vote. Check out Chuck Baldwin’s website here and here. You just might like what you read.
The following pictures will show why blogging has been slow here on the porch. This is the room we’re adding so my wife’s mom can come live with us. We’ve done everything ourselves except the block work.
Amber and I did the floor together. I didn’t break down and buy a nail gun until after we did the floor. Yeah, I know.
Here’s Marshall “wukin” as he calls it.
My stepdad(who’s the brains behind this operation) came up 4th of July to help us get the walls up.
I’ll continue to update our progress here. I hope to be done by the end of August. It will be close.
I live in Savannah, GA home to Hunter Army Airfield and Ft. Stewart in nearby Hinesville. Needless to say it’s a military town. Ft. Stewart is home to the 3rd Infantry Division. A local radio station plays this song along with soldier’s greetings to their families while they are in Iraq. I sure wish this mess would soon end and these guys can come home.
Something tells me that it won’t end any time soon.
Don’t think dark horse candidate(no pun intended) Obama will do anything different.
When these are the two main choices for president it’s time to vote third party. Nothing would scare Washington more than anything than for Americans(no matter which end of the political spectrum they may be) to vote for a candidate besides the ones our media tells us to. The power always resides with the people. Governments rely on fear and apathy to give the illusion that they are the ones in control. The power is in your hands. What are you going to do?
Here is a clip from a movie I recently watched called Lions For Lambs. This scene has been stuck in my head for the past two weeks. Robert Redford makes a great point to this young man. WARNING: This video has some brief bad language in it.
My original title for this post was “What Will It Take?”, but I made (an appropriate, I think) change to the title. Please read the review below of the Southern Baptist Convention’s exploits in avoiding addressing what Christians should do with their children in the California state run school system that says they must push homosexuality. The Church in the West is surely not what it was in times past. Nevertheless God is still building His kingdom in spite of our weaknesses. To say I’m disappointed with this denomination’s decision is an understatement.
I finally finished the book Alien Intrusion by Gary Bates. I shelved it for a couple of months. I’m not really into science fiction, but this was a good book. Bates basically points out that people’s fascination with UFO’s was multiplied with Orson Welles famous War of the Worlds radio show. Since that show UFO sightings have been on the rise. Bates gives some interesting facts on space travel, what really happened in Roswell,NM, and what exactly does go on in Area 51. He also addresses famous UFO abductions and stories(think of the movies Fire In The Sky, The Mothman Prophecies ). I won’t reveal the conclusion that Bates comes to as to what he thinks is really going on in our skies. He takes on a spiritual approach to these matters. I’m glad I’m done with this book and can move on to another one I’ve started and shelved.
